UKIP POLICY

 

JUST SOME OF THE MANY COMMON SENSE, FAIR MINDED AND PRACTICAL SOLUTIONS THAT UKIP WOULD PROMOTE TO HELP MAKE BRITAIN A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE IN AND FEEL GREAT AGAIN:

  1. Scrap Employers National Insurance Tax (helping new business to succeed and incentivise creation of more jobs)
  2. Scrap inheritance tax (about time)
  3. An Apprenticeship Qualification (both practical and effective to revitalise youth employment)
  4. Ban the export of live animals for slaughter (the right thing to do)
  5. Remove tuition fees for approved degrees where those skills are most needed; science, medicine, technology, engineering (common sense at its best)
  6. Child benefit only for those living in the UK (more common sense)
  7. Ensuring initial presumption of 50-50 parenting on child custody matters and visitation rights for grandparents when parents split (help keep family values)
  8. GP surgeries where there is demand to open one evening a week (making lives better)
  9. Armed services personnel leaving the forces after 12 years or more, guarantee them a job in the Police, Prison or Border Service (duty of debt and respect)
  10. Houses on Brownfield sites exempt from stamp duty on a first sale and VAT relaxed for redevelopment of these sites as well as simplifying planning regulations for long term empty properties (helping to solve the housing crisis)
  11. Local referenda for large-scale development, if triggered by 5% of electorate (empower the people)
  12. Protecting genuine refugees by returning to the UN Convention of Refugees principles (because UKIP do care)
  13. Encourage and protecting whistle blowing to get to the bottom of negligent performance (because we should all care)
  14. Prioritising social housing for those whose parents and grandparents were born locally (that is fair and reasonable)
  15. Entitlements extended to ALL servicemen recruited from overseas who fight on the frontline (humane and just plain right)
  16. School inspection should be forced by OFSTED if 25% of parents or governors call for it (more empowerment of the people)
  17. No cuts to frontline policing services and scrap speed cameras where obviously a revenue raising device (damn popular)
  18. UK visitors to prepay for Private Health Care as a condition of entry or to have contributed NI tax for a period of 5 years before they benefit directly from a free NHS... ...and of the £2 billion saved, just £200 million will end Hospital parking charges (sensible and sensitive)
  19. Raise personal allowance to full time minimum wage (fairness for all)
  20. Introduce a middle tier 35p income tax band, with 40p kicking in at 55K (Sensible and adapting with the times)
  21. Food labelling to state country, method, hormones and genetic additives (we want to know)
  22. Scrap target of 50% for school leavers going to University and let them find their own level (undo the meddling)
  23. British companies to be prioritised to deliver foreign aid contracts (giving something back for tax payers money)
  24. Stand up for animal welfare by banning the inhumane slaughter of live animals without being stunned (civilised, compassionate and ethical)
  25. Promoting patriotism and the importance of British values in our schools (because without it, we will lose the battle of hearts and minds for our heritage, our sense of identity and the very soul of our communities)
